i think yday had to be my worst day ever.

first i was late for work and so i had to cab down
:(

i'm really going broke cos i've been shopping up a storm in anticipation of my pay haha (well i prefer to think of them as investments. i mean i cant be walking around without clothes right? hehe). so i think i've effectively negated out whatever allowance i have earned for the past half a month. ugh accrued expenditure. hurrhurr not sure if that was the right term huh but YAH so not funny. right now i have like 30 bucks left of next month's allowance and an overdrawn bank account. wait till my mum sees my statement, its gonna be even more unfunny

anyway in my stupid haste rushing i must've kicked something and my heel broke! so i was a lame Clacker hobbling in and out the lift. i went round looking for superglue but can you believe that in the whole frickin div no one has a tiny tube of SUPERGLUE. not even the recep. not even the guard (thats how desperately i needed it). good grief.

so i hobbled over to the post office which didnt have either.

so i hobbled over to 7eleven which didnt have either.

so i hobbled over to orchard plaza which didnt have either.
almost all the shops were closed but along the way i met this damn cute uncle from one of the electronic shops (i checked with almost all the open shops if they had. i'm not spending the last of my money reserves on superglue.) then he told me to go the money changer in the next buliding to try (see its so ulu i dont even know what its called).

and wonders of wonders i FINALLY got my superglue. from the ulu buliding. -_-
aannd it didnt work. RARR.

so as i hobbled back dejectedly i passed by the uncle again. haha he immediately pronounced i had done it ALL WRONG and proceeded to grab glue and shoe from me. anyway it must've been really lousy glue i guess but it didnt work either. in the end he brought me to this shoe shop inside the orchard plaza and got me a good price.
which wasnt that good also actually.

barely the start of the day and i alr spent like... 7 hrs of pay. grouch.

since i'm talking about this i just have to comment this company was made for me honestly. no one and i mean NO ONE cares about punctuality. or lack thereof.

its like i went off straight after checking with the recep, so i didnt mention i'll be out to my boss. i was out triapsing around the streets looking for the bloody superglue for almost an hr and when i came back, either she didnt know or she didnt care to mention it. haha.
and to think i actually almost got run over rushing across the red light hahaha.

and in the mornings when like i'm killing myself trying to run from the mrt to work on time in my lovely heels, congratulating myself on reaching at 845 plus only to find... the office is still dark.

and lunch. when there are occasions like say someone's bday, or someone treating, they simply ignore the one hr set break time. self imposed bday present/holiday i guess. then after that calmly catwalk in like its our right. hahaha goodness i've never seen such decadent disregard before and i looove it! haha :D. i can so get used to this. usually on normal days they arent too nehneh about lunch times either. like 15, 20 mins late barely warrants a notice. but aiyah to give them credit on most days they come back early after eating. like they dont wanna shop or walk around to fill the one hr.

so. NOT SO BIMBO RIIIGHT!
scowl. in between the rules of attire and punctuality culture, i've heard about every bimbo joke in the book. *rolls eyes

anyway on to more uh, relevant things. they tooks me on one of my "walks" again last fri. haha and in true pet fashion, i was really excited about it :D hahaha.
but then none this week :\
unfortunately right now i'm supposed to be packing stuff for some atrium thing tmr, something like a forum sponsored by the division. yeah so that means i'm working tmr too. a SAT with NO OT. so if i hear one more TGIF thing i shall give you guys one less thing to TG for.

well. for now (aside from taking up MY SAT) lisa is still loving the fabulousss lifee with fabulous spending power.

ok at work now and about an hour before i can leave.
today is a such a lull... ... ... i've run out of things to do, waiting for ppl to get back to me.
not bad huh for the first time in my sch/work life i'm ahead of my slacking mechanism. haha.

i can't even look for ppl to find stuff to do cos well. like all the senior staff in my division are gone. i'm not kidding. well to begin with usually at some point in the day some of them will be gone, i'm guessing its one of the perks of marketing :D but today like slowly everyone left and now i'm sitting amidst all the empty cubicles. hahaha. maybe i -

ok it was then i was just about to hypothesize some of the stuff i could do with the office photocopier, but suddenly a few of them swanned in so i had to faster get off blogger. guess its not twilight zone anymore.
crap. always wanted to try photocopying like 100 copies of my ass or something and tape it all over the office, like the stuff you see in movies hahaha. (just as an aside how anyone can get away with that without the office tracing it is beyond me.)
well. i still have about 2 mths left to leave some sorta legacy here so i can slowly mull over how i'm gonna do something drastic. go out with a bang, you know. muaha.

anyways, i just noticed my last post had lotsa references to Devil wears Prada. haha i looove it! if you havent read/seen it, do yourself a favour, there are just some books you shouldnt miss haha. anyway this isnt a book club or anything but an even GREATER FAN has pointed out that the Devil's name is Miranda Priestly not Presley, as in Elvis. hahahaha. we marvel and stand in awe of her FANSHIP OOOH :D
well office life is still as DWP-ish as ever, i half expect to find the Closet somewhere around :D there is a whole cupboard section filled with excess upon excess products tho. they keep plying me with the products and really, no one's complaining :) :) but honestly its becos they have LOADS of excess or the pdts are nearing expiration..not to gloat too much haha :D.

apologies for the constant chatter, sometimes i'm just caught up in the excitement! be happy for me laaaa hehe. oh my boss and this other staffer seem to have taken an interest in solving my uh, not so perfect skin haha so i've got lotsa free samples too grin grin. haha i'm such an el cheapo. well at least for once ppl arent LYING to me saying i'm being paranoid about my breakout and blatanly claiming they cant see anything when I CAN! scowl.

gueeesss what!
i love my internshiiip! seriously. this is one of my rare moments of un-sarcasm hahaha.
i think i seem to be the only one not complaining about it la. it might be too early to say i guess since its only the first week, but so far its been fun enough! basically theres the usual bit of brainless sai gang that is required, but yet worth too little to make the employees they actually pay some sorta decent salary do it. so thats where we interns come in. cheap labour- i've breathed in a hell lot of photocopier air, went psycho with the printer and honed my lovely sorting skills. mind you i'm so proud of my neat little piles. haha.
then there is the higher level of work i would say justifies being an intern. you know the typical excel spreadsheet and calc stuff.
but what makes me love it is all the extras. today they brought me out on a "learning experience" to see the mkt displays and all. haha dont i sound damn deprived, but i guess i appreciate it like alot considering what i hear about other internships... this kind of on-the-field work is really one in a million. oh and i was given my first project! i'm supposed to design the layout for this new packaging :)

that aside, i have to say that no one does VANITY like L'ORE*L (haha thats just in case they google it and find out i'm telling everyone all their lovely secrets :D. eh come on MR POH used to do it!).
anyways the office main area is damn nice but i've seen it before so it didnt really come as a surprise. what was more interesting was the STAFF. imagine The Devil Wears Prada minus The Devil (at least i think so for now..) and alot less Prada. hahaha.
still, everyday is a fashion show. seems as if they are above boring suits and ties, court shoes, knee length skirts etc. and really, like ANYTHING goes as long as you cover your bits. todayy, like just my 2nd day and i've alr seen like helluva short skirts. in an office?! or maybe cos its casual fri. hmmm.

anyway seriously everyone looks good. well, dresses good enough rather. even most of the older women, with their distinguished exec vibe kinda thing (but there are quite a few lao hiaos around as well haha). even the cleaning auntie is not your average cleaning auntie :D
OH and everyone's a Clacker. its almost as if they enjoy making that racket across the lift lobby. you should hear it at lunch time OMG.. ooh but i have joined the bimbo brigade, and am a loud and proud Clacker as well hahaha :D. YET i can foresee it will most prob wear off after awhile...i cant imagine wearing HEELS everyday... already i'm starting to walk about without shoes insde the office, and i'm just wondering how long that'll last before i get nagged haha.

the ppl are generally alrite la...i'm still trying to figure out if the guys are gay or not. or which ones are. hmmm. but thank goodness no Miranda Presley, my boss seems to be quite nice. theres this girl who's kinda bitchy tho but well its only ONE and she's not the superior i have to answer to. phew.
they've been really great, explaining the corporate mktg terms to me, letting me try new stuff and all .
i guess sometimes i get reminded of a pet though, when they bring me on "outings". hahahah sheesh. anyhows apparently i'm going for more "outings" next week :D

the only downside about working is by the end of the day i'm so DEAD TIRED. and this is only my first week! first half week even. i cant imagine what i'll be like at the end of 2 mths la.
but oh wells. its a happy tired. and they are making it worthwhile...

hahahaha. its not polite to disclose how much i get but well. safe to say its a RELATIVE shitload which is gonna make this shopaholic one happy girl! :D

SPEAKING OF WORTHWHILE. OMG i tell you getting to L'ore*l was one helluva ride.
ok i had accepted ____, but didnt sign their agreement. so i went for the Lore*l interview simply for the fun of it just like nick does. and seeing the competition i was up against i was sure i didnt need to bother with contingency plans. but in the end i did get it and i had to question my moral principles. and all the long dilemmas, confusion, discussions and worry can be answered in one word. "capitalism" says the wise old cow. and so capitalism it was.
i did the honourable thing by telling ____the TRUTH and not some cock and bull story. but i guess they didnt appreciate my well intended moral fibre.
they called the sch careeer ctr to megabitch about me, and the sch called me and gave me the scolding of my life. prob wont get anymore internships thru sch i suppose.
after ALL that crap jon asked if it was worth it?

you know you never really appreciate crap until you have to study it.
so what is crap? after many days of ploughing thru the lovely multitude of sins i have neglected during the sem, i have reached a conclusion.

management science= crap.
(ok la i didnt do well in the bloody mid sem. hate it with a vengeance i tell you)

oooh just listen to the lecturer's announcement. "Some students have asked me which previous semesters’ exam papers did I set ... ... That should be sufficient information for you to gauge my “style” and let you forecast the coming exam paper. This may not be Perfect Information, but I guess there should be positive EVSI there." he thinks he's so farny la. -_-

oh well. prob last min mugging next week with the retard cow. seems like he's the only one who understands. just an aside, anything which the majority of the population finds remotely hard to comprehend seems to be like kachang putih to him la -_-.
which is really just damn irritating. scowl.

anyway guess what. this sem i feel like i really put in a hell lot of effort studying if i can say so myself. beams. haha i've been holed up with my books and more books. the only thing keeping me alive now (but barely) is the ray of light next weekedn!
