black flowers bloom
and. i saw these cute monsters as i drove past outside cine today. definitely smaller than the cows. which means viable. hehehe i think i'm gonna get me a baby monster ;)
ok anyway officially uni has started... ughh... start studying again.
lectures are still pretty much lectures. i never thought i would say this but i miss Cj. the feeling in uni is damn different... like in jc you had a class to belong to, your clique, a constant group of friends. but in uni its much much more independant... like everyone is just drifting around to classes. some ppl even sit alone which i'vebeen told is really normal for uni. as kelly said we're only in school for a few hours a few times a week...what friends? lucky me and tiang found each other so at least there's a friendly face for most of our business lectures... we're trying to get tutorials tog too. but still it definitely takes some getting used to, this new state of independance after like 10 over years with our security blanket of friends and classmates... in addition what makes it worse is the cj system of having your fixed class moving around with you in all the lectures and tutorials, so we never experienced growing out of the whole sec school thing.
ah well i guess in a cock-eyed kinda perspective this independent thing its a rite of passage all of us hafta go thru... like a gradual initiation into the real world huh.
ok that was me trying to convince myself to feel and be mature. i wanna be a childish immature kid forever!!! well for now that is. hurhur we shall see. all that talk about independENT is making me nostalgic about cj and miss ting's GP lessons. sigh.
aside from that another horror is this wonderful invention some twit came up with called sectional teaching. its this lesson thingie where people feel stressed and pressured to speak up in front of a big group of people cos other kiasu students feel the need to interact with the lecturer after his repeated attempts of starting an informal friendship by encouraging us to have conversations (with him) in front of the whole class. ah in other words class participation is necessary. MUCH class participation about like 20 % of the final grade. which i'm so loving. again after 10 over years of casting a lazy and indifferent eye at teachers as they make their pathetic attempts to extract the answers from our bored class, finally resorting to arrowing people, this does not amuse me in any way. haha. unfortunately this is not a rites of passage in that sense, its a do or die kinda thing. so i'll have to be all enthu! about class gahhh.
i've also moved into hostel! its quite fun actually. all the freedom and personal space. its also much easier to bear cos of my bumming visitors. haha oh and the "neighbours" of course... so basically when i'm bored or lonely or feel like irritating something-someone-i pay them a visit. grin grin. but honestly its the spaces of time in between with nothing to do like when everyone's busy or whatever, when you really feel homesick i guess. so far the first week was ok... managed to have lunch/dinner buddies for most of the week except one loonnng lunch when i was bored to tears in my room in between lects. one bad thing is the shuttle buses are really really irritatingg esp when they wake you up as early as 7 am after you slept at like 3 plus the night before. and they seem to loovee to accelerate loudly the area near my room. but. then again the hostel has such potential. hehe can you imagine i can come home anytime i want without my mum nagging. or accumulate a lovely mess without anyone but me to care! haha
so anyway thats uni life so far... quite a blur first week but i'll hopefully get accustomed to the madness.
after sleeping unbelievably late/early whichever side you look at it from, it wouldn't even let me sleep in peace! i had nightmares about it! it was more of like fragments of horror. haha like one moment i had missed the open bidding without bidding for anything or like my they suddenly changed the timetable and it clashed with my already complicated schedule. or like i was suddenly precluded from it and i only had like 5 mins or something to decide what i wanted to take before bidding closed. if you have nooo idea what i'm ranting aobut count your blessings.
i remember it so well cos it wasn't even like sleeping... more like drifting in and out of conciousness waking up between moments of terror. haha sounds retarded even to me now but when you're stuck in fitful sleep you can't get out of, and the dumbest things are keeping you awake, all you're thinking is "seriously wth". so after much disturbed rest i finally gave up around 10 plus. so with the rest of the jaded ladies we wearily trudged back online to continue our obsessive staring at the bidding numbers. rarr. haha
after that it was some well deserved retail therapy+ comfort food! i tell you what happend to far east man. its like all the stuff they're selling seems to be the same as each other and same as mango/zara/etc. couldn't find anything interesting although i saw lotsa pretty things! haha cheers to shoppiinnnggg.
anyway i'm going to be ORD soon. hhaha if my mum saw that i'd be deaaddd. i'm moving the last of my stuff to pgp on sunday which means officially i'll be staying at The Cubicle on mon. feels damn weird... it'll be like going on budget holiday myself i guess. haha with lotsa houseguests... who have taken the initiative to self-invite =). hey, the lonely traveller always appreciates company grin grin. i told them my table is theirs for the taking if they wanna sleepover. told you it was a cubicle. but i love my home sweet cubicle.
as the wise old janfucious (haha) says "i can forsee your room being very cluttered". don't she know me well. haha muak! in my defense it'll still be an orderly kinda clutter ok!
oh btw something struck me as damn cute. the day before i moved the first half of my things over i saw this huge tupperware of food and tidbits next to my stuff. there was like the usual milo and sensible food, but my mum had added chocolates and sweets and all that junk nonsense in also. haha i dunno la but i thought it was so funny! trust mums to remember what its all about. i love my mummy! (when she doesn't nag) haha
see this comes from a combination of indecisiveness, a horrible habit of procrastination, a hate for all things remotely related to the word tech-whatever, and just too many frickin modules.
i know i sound mega cranky now cos i am. i am really going to complain to nus about this modules system... after i graduate. haha. its really terrible that they're making everyone obsessive computer addicts because of a lesson plan!
ok ok. no more complaining. i must go to my serene place.
i can so hear the birds chirping la and i don't think its in a good way, cos i only heard these birds when i woke up early for school in my yesteryears. which means it must be really really reallyyyy early. oh tell me something i don't know.
5.25 am i think i'm gonna fall off the chair from exhaution.
when i was on my way to school that day i saw another field full of them. the national day limited edition. all plump and juicy and waiting around. omg. i knew it was time to set our long laid plans into motion. i want that cow. haha so i msged everyone in our Cow Club about it! unfortunately no one seemed as excited as me. and jolynn i suppose. haha. so this time yes this time, we shall definitely come back from our expedition with a cow. yay!!
anyway uni has sorta unofficially started. i'm only on my 2nd day of orientation no less and obviously the fatigue is addling my mind (haha see above)... so later!
i know the last post was dated wayyy back. didn't publish the draft... oops
